To say I was sad to see this series end, I'm satisfied that it's only the beginning. As one door closes another opens. Nick has always wanted a little to call his own when his lover suddenly dies.. He is torn. What he never expected was for his vengeful soon to be ex-wife plans to ruin him. What he never expected was to gain access to the one woman who exposed him.. the lifestyle and all that was a little world. Through the defiance and tears comes the transformation of a new little... lil Kate. I love how each book builds off the last and that we get to keep up with the other couples we've grown so fond of. Another success from Elsa Black.
I think in a series like this, where it's basically the same recipe of submissive girl + dominant guy with different names and a few personality traits, it can easily become boring. For me, that's what's happened here. I enjoyed the first one, but the following books in the series less so. I loved Black's other new book "Daddy Issues" , but I got quite bored with this one. Perhaps the next one, given the change of location and mechanics of the Eden Institute as a whole, will prove more exciting.
The 4 books in the Eden Series of AP stories are all wonderful examples of how relationships in the lifestyle differ. The similarities are also celebrated, so all AP readers (and readers of AP stories!) will enjoy each of the books. I've read all 4 and the Eden Institute's employees, programs and benefactors create a wonderful environment that will have readers enjoying these books by Elsa Black. I highly recommend!
Eden's very existence is on the line when a tape surfaces exposing what goes on behind the doors of this special place. Faced with a choice of ruin or becoming a member of Eden's select Littles, Kate finds herself in the very place she tried to expose. Nick feels partly responsible for what could be the demise of the institution he helped create. His love of Eden and its occupants has had him dreaming of retiring to live his own life with his special Little behind its walls. Can he give not only forgiveness to Kate but show her that beneath her tough exterior, she is a Little at heart? Will she find true happiness in submission? Will this be the end of Eden or perhaps a new beginning for all? This is a quick read and is the fourth in the Eden Institute series.
This story is full of drama. Nick has unintentionally drawn attention to Eden. he realizes his part in that and takes steps to help. Kate played a part in the trouble that has been unleashed and because of the nature of Nick's employment and those involved in Eden her very life is in danger. Kate isn't really given much of choice but when her and Nick meet you feel their connection. It is a rough start to a relationship. They both try yet again to save what has become important to both of them. But despite best efforts there are changes that will have to be made. But again Nick steps up and takes a leadership role in the new efforts. In the end the end the family Eden has created pull together and we get to see that there are some wonderful new things in their future.
I have adored all of the Eden Institute stories and tore through all four in the matter of a week. Quick, satisfying (wink wink) reads that follow individual storylines that tie in together beautifully. A wonderful combination of emotion, drama, conflict, resolution and of course some erotic scenes thrown in. I love the writing style and the complex but simple story lines (contradicting, I know). I'm so sad to see the potential end of the series, and I can only hope the ending of the Eden series brings about the beginning of the Sweetbriar!
P.S. The Eden stories have me a lovely way to introduce age play aspects of relationships to my partner and has given us a whole new sense of togetherness. Reading aloud particular scenes was both informational at times (because Lord above knows I'm scatterbrained), and hot in others. The books really allowed us to open up to some other kinky desires!
